The poem makes you look at life a different way.  It shows that people are selfish,  that they don't stick up for one another in fear that something will happen to them.  Then when they get picked on there will not be anyone to stick up for them.  It would be helpful if we stood up for one another so that when the time comes, we can protect each other.  One is weak, but all are strong.
